Under President Bush’s U.S. $157 million Indonesia Education Initiative on improving basic education, USAID is assisting Indonesia to transform the classroom experience into one of energy and inquiry.

On April 29, 132 young men and women from Aceh and Nias completed three months of intensive training in carpentry, civil construction, computer applications and bookkeeping at the Politeknik Caltex Riau in Pekanbaru under a joint program funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and Chevron Corporation.
