Microsoft and SENADA Announce Indonesian Technology Innovators

Microsoft Indonesia and SENADA, a USAID-funded project to strengthen Indonesian competitiveness, today announced the winners of the second iMULAI competition, known as iMULAI 2.0. The aim of the competition is to cultivate a spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship among members of the Indonesian business community. 

“We are really proud to see the growth in the quality and quantity of participants for iMULAI 2.0. This reinforces our resolve to continue making the Indonesian IT industry more competitive globally,” said Tony Chen, President Director of PT Microsoft Indonesia. 

Each of the three winners will be awarded a US$ 25,000 innovation development fund, Microsoft products and technology worth US$ 8,000, and hardware valued at US$ 2,500. Winners also have the opportunity to participate in the Microsoft international event TechED to be held in Malaysia. The top 50 participants will receive Microsoft software applications worth US$ 400,000. 

The competition was conducted between November 1 and December 5, 2008, during which time IT companies, students and non-governmental organizations submitted 63 innovative applications. A panel of judges from Microsoft, SENADA and USAID selected the three winners of the iMulai 2.0 competition based on originality and potential impact on business competitiveness. They are:

 1. Grafika ValleyMobile@ActA web- and cell-phone- based application that will enable small business employees, customers and suppliers to perform daily tasks such as accessing company information in real time.

2. AMN (PT. Azadirachta Mandiri)

Collaborative eBusiness System (CES)
A mobile Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) application designed specifically for small business-to-business (B2B) communication between producers and consumers.

3. PT. Immedia Visi Solusi

Application for internet radio broadcasting
A new concept for Internet Radio Broadcasting that will provide a medium for communication and marketing, giving clients free access to interactive live information that can been listened to and played back as many times as needed, in a bilingual (Indonesian and English) format.
