Two women - part of a larger tsunami and conflict-affected community - relax at a semi-permanent house constructed for internally displaced persons in Aceh. With USAID support, the SERASI program focuses on peace building efforts at multiple levels in conflict-affected areas, including Aceh and Central Sulawesi.

In support of effective and accountable local governance, to address conflict and to consolidate national-level democratic reforms, the U.S. government has dedicated $129 million over five years (2004-2009).
