Reproductive Health and Family Planning-Sustaining Technical Achievements in Reproductive Health (STARH)

After more than 35 Years of partnership, USAID will graduate it’s assistance to the National Family Planning Coordinating Board.  USAID and BKKBN have worked closely to develop one of the world’s most successful family planning programs. USAID’s STARH program is playing the lead role in disseminating proven interventions in family planning to all provinces throughout Indonesia. The STARH program’s mandate has been to build the capacity of host country partners to improve the quality of reproductive health services.  STARH key partners include: government staff at all levels, the OB/GYN association, the midwifery association, FBOs, and key NGOs involved in reproductive health service delivery. STARH has led significant achievements in reproductive health including: development of national standards for family planning and reproductive health, launching the successful Quality Midwife Program, developing an innovative district driven contraceptive security program, and assisting NGOs to become strong advocates for family planning.
