Overview

In support of effective and accountable local governance, to address conflict and to consolidate national-level democratic reforms, the U.S. government has dedicated $129 million over five years (2004-2009).

On November 16, the U.S. Government, through the U.S. Agency for International Development, agreed to provide an additional $9 million in funding to support implementation of the peace process in Aceh. This amount brings the total U.S. contribution to the Aceh peace process to $129 million.
